Letter to Families- June 18th, 2021

June 18, 2021

Dear Parents/Guardians of Rosedale Students;

The 2020-2021 school year is quickly coming to a close.  We know it has been a whirlwind of a year for everyone.  We want to thank you for your patience, understanding and support throughout this unprecedented year.  There have been many ups and downs, and we want to be able to end this school year on as positive a note as possible.

As you are aware, all schools have been directed to continue with Remote learning until the end of the school year.  HWDSB has directed the following:

  • The Ministry staff informed the Director that all school boards will remain in the remote learning model for the remainder of this school year.
  • Staff will continue to focus on remote learning and support students to complete the school year.
  • Staff will continue to focus on grade 8 and 12 celebrations (virtual and walk-by/drive-through in-person). All other grades will be focusing on small, virtual year-end celebrations.

Throughout Friday June 25th, Monday June 28th, and Tuesday June 29th, students will be invited by their classroom teacher to the Rosedale playground in groups of no more than 5 students per class at a time for about 10 minutes to return any school materials including technology devices, and to pick up their personal belongings and a small gift from Rosedale.  As we are limited by public health to groups of 10 people outdoors please limit the number of people who accompany your child to the school at your designated time.  Classroom teachers will set up the schedule for this and students will be sent information about their specific time to come to Rosedale on either of these 3 days.  Students are asked to please wear a mask when they enter the playground, and not to hang out after their pick-up time is over.  Parents are asked to remain outside of the school fence/gate during these pick-up times to maintain the safety procedures previously established for this school year.  Please make sure all technology is returned – IPAD, charging block and cord.

If you have any questions, please direct them to your child’s classroom teacher.

Thank you,

Ms. Neville – Principal Rosedale P.S.
