Our School

Rockton Elementary School is a brand new school, which opened in August of 2020.  It represents years of work on the parts of many people who worked tirelessly to make this dream a reality.  It sits directly in front of the Beverly Community Centre and Arena at 670 Hwy 8.  The school is sorrounded by beautiful grounds with access to many of the fields maintained by the City of Hamilton (baseball, soccer, football and tennis).

The school has been designed with bright beautiful spaces with state of the art lighting and air handling capabilities (and yes, we have air conditioning!).  We now have a large gym which can be divided into two smaller gyms through the use of a drop-down curtain.  We also have a stage area which is fully accessible.  We have great specialty areas like an instrumental music room, along with large art and science classrooms.  For the 2020-21 school year, we have 4 kindergarten classrooms, and 16 classrooms for Grades 1 to 8.

Upon entering the school, guests will notice 3 country school bells proudly displayed in our main entrance.  These bells come from each of the rural schools that were closed and amalgamated into this new building including Beverly Central Elementary School, Dr. John Seaton Elementary School and Queen’s Rangers Elementary School.  We have a proud history and very close ties to our local community!

  • Arrival and dismissal procedures will be very structured where students will enter the grounds as one bus unloads at a time.  Students will have assigned outdoor line locations for the first week of school and possibly longer.

Communication with School

  • The best method to reach the school for non-urgent matters is through email: [email protected].
  • The main office can be called directly at (289) 345-4555.  Note that our new phone system is internet-based and any problems with internet, may affect our telephones.
  • Teachers will each have a voicemail extension but it is best to reach them through email also.
  • Teachers and Office Administrators may choose to contact your through Microsoft Teams and it is worth downloading this app to your computer and smart phone to facilitate face-to-face communications since parent access to the school will be limited this year.
  • Many teachers will be using classroom websites for communication and we hope to expand our use of School Messenger as a means of private communication between teachers and parents.
  • Please SUBSCRIBE to our school website this will be an important means of communication as you are notified by email whenever new information is added.
