Hallowe’en Reminder

On October 30, weather permitting, students in Grades 1 to 5 will have an opportunity to perform a Hallowe’en fitness dance that they have been practicing in Physical Education in their cohort groups with Mrs. Mason. After, they will have a dance party outside in their cohort groups. If the weather is inclement, students will dance during their PE class in the gym. All students will have a class celebration at 2:25 PM and must bring their own treat as there is no sharing of food. A brown paper bag that your child has decorated was sent home last week. We are requesting your help to fill this “party bag” for your child. The contents of the bag will be their treat for the classroom celebration. Some suggestions for their bag are:
– A small bag of chips, popcorn or pretzels
– A peanut-free chocolate item
– A peanut-free candy item
– A non-candy item (e.g. stickers, play-doh, Halloween pencil, etc.)                                                                                                                    Please make sure treats fit inside bag and that the bag top can be folded so nothing falls out. Students should wear a costume that allows them to participate in recess and PE. This might mean that they wear a different costume to school then the one that they wear out on Hallowe’en night. No one-piece or blow-up costumes should be worn to school. Students must be able to wear their mask as part of their costume. Please note that Millgrove will be accepting donations to supplement student learning and tech purchasing to provide an iPad for every student in grades 1-5 in lieu of fundraising this year. School Cash online is now open for donations under $40. If you would like a tax receipt, a cheque for $40 or more should be made out to the Hamilton Foundation for Student Success (in support of Millgrove School in check note) and sent to school in a labelled enveloped with your child. Please note that the tax receipt will be made out to the person named on the cheque.
Thank you for your support of Millgrove School.
