McMaster University: Free, On-line Coding Camps (Gr. 4-8)

We have free coding lessons and camps coming up and want to reach children in grades 4-8 who are at higher risk of falling behind due to the closing of schools.  Summer vacation, when only some children can afford engaging summer camps already widens the gap in educational outcomes, and now the break will be twice as long.

We have undergraduate mentors available about eight hours a day to help children, and everything they do is motivation for the math they are learning.

Since there will be lots of exciting, but advanced concepts, we require that all students participate in our Elm Sprints lessons. The specific requirements for each camp can be found on our website here: http://outreach.mcmaster.ca/#summer-2020-camps.

If this sounds like something you are interested in and plan to apply for, please use this short form:  https://forms.gle/kM8harH2NRQ3q8kNA. This will help us to plan and prepare for the camps!

Also, we are still running Elm Sprints Lessons 1-9. You can find the sign-up on our calendar here: http://outreach.mcmaster.ca/#calendar. This will continue to be updated throughout the summer, it’s a good idea to keep it pinned!

Thank you,
