Highview School – Recognizing Down Syndrome Day

Parents and Guardians,

Although Saturday, March 21st is the official day to recognize, “Down Syndrome Day”, we are planning on recognizing this day on Friday, March 27th  at Highview School. On this day, we will be asking students to wear Blue & Yellow and/or Outlandish Socks, and to Donate a Looney or Tooney if possible which will be donated to the Down Syndrome Society of Hamilton. Throughout the week leading up to this day, announcements will be made each day helping all students to better understand Down Syndrome, and some classes might engage in drawing/decorating colourful socks and post them around the school.

Anyone wishing to learn more about Down Syndrome might wish to view the latest edition of “Canada’s Down Syndrome Magazine” by visiting the following link.
