Highview School-Bussing Information

Parents and Guardians,

Please be reminded that those students who are eligible for bussing for the school year will receive a letter from Hamilton-Wentworth Student Transportation Services (HWSTS) indicating so over the summer. If a letter is not received, students are not allowed to get onto busses in September. All others who wish to ride, but are not eligible, will need to complete “Courtesy Rider” Applications in September. Acceptances as courtesy riders will be completed by the beginning of October. You may also wish to review the HWDSB Transportation Policy regarding bussing. Bussing is granted as follows according to this policy:

Students residing within all urban and rural areas as defined by the “Official Plans” and prepared by the local municipality, will be eligible for transportation services to their in-catchment school when the walking distance exceeds the following:

• Elementary School, Kindergarten students: 1.0 km
• Elementary School, grades 1 to 8 students, 1.6 km
• Secondary School, grades 9 to 12 students, 3.2 km
