Staffing Update
I am pleased to announce that beginning on February 20th, Kwame Djan will assume his position as principal of Helen Detwiler. With extensive experience as a school administrator and educator, he brings a wealth of knowledge. I am also pleased to announce that John Forbeck will be the temporary principal at Helen Detwiler, starting January 8th after the winter break. Mr. Forbeck has been a longstanding and well respected leader in our board. He has been an educator, principal, superintendent in HWDSB as well as the director of GEDSB. Mr. Forbeck will be covering until Mr. Djan starts on February 20th.
Please join me in extending a warm welcome to both Mr. Djan and Mr. Forbeck in the upcoming year!

School Council Meeting/Volunteer Information Session
- Our next school council meeting will be Tuesday, January 23rd at 6:30 p.m. in our library/learning commons. Children are welcome!
- If you are interested in volunteering at the school, please join us as we will be answering any questions you may have and reviewing the process for becoming a school volunteer.
PA Day – Friday January 26th
- No school for students on this day.
