What is School Council? 

• An important advisory body to the school and school board.
• A cooperative body that is composed of parents, staff members, and others in the community.

Why is School Council Important? 

1. Helps improve student achievement by placing student interests first.
2. Establishes a positive relationship with the school principal and staff.
3. Increases accountability of the education system to parents.
4. Promotes effective, ongoing communication among all partners in education.
5. Advises the principal/trustee/superintendent in making decisions on: school improvement planning, fundraising, extracurricular activities, budget priorities, code of conduct, and the school events calendar.

How/When Will School Council Meet? 

• Tuesday, November 28th, 6:30-7:30pm, In-Person and Virtual
• Thursday, February 8th, 8:00-9:00pm, In-Person and Virtual
• Thursday, March 6th, 6:30-7:30pm, In-Person and Virtual
• Monday, May 12th, 6:30-7:30pm, In-Person and Virtual
