School Council

Textsize
A+ A-

The focus of a School Council is to improve student learning, achievement and well-being and enhance the accountability of the education system to parents.

School Councils are advisory committees – they provide advice to the principal and school board. Every school must have a school council (members include parents, the principal, school staff, and a community representative). The majority of members must be parents, and the chair must be a parent. You do not have to be a member to attend council meetings.
