
A Note from School Council…
School Council is a group of parents/guardians who meet once a month, along with the school Principal and a Teacher representative, to discuss school related issues and create community involvement within the school. If you are new to the school and/or have yet to attend a School Council meeting, please consider joining us!
Why be involved? Parent engagement matters. Study after study has shown us that student achievement improves when parents play an active role in their children’s education, and that good schools become even better schools when parents are involved. It is recognized that parent engagement is a key factor in the enhancement of student achievement and well-being.
What is the purpose of a School Council? The Ancaster Meadow School Council is an advisory body which functions within the parameters of Ministry of Education and Board policies and procedures. The School Council, through the active participation of parents, will strive to assist school staff in improving pupil achievement by providing support where possible, make recommendations to the Principal and enhance the accountability of the education system as a whole.
You’re invited to join us at our monthly School Council meetings held once a month in the school library at 6:30. Our amazing Home and School Association meets following school council.

You are welcome to attend meetings merely to gain knowledge about this great school and have the advantage of learning about many aspects suck as upcoming fundraisers, events, future planning for the school, various school information. Your input is valued and we’re always looking for new ideas and different ways to get our school community involved. You are encouraged to reach out and contact Council if you have any questions about the upcoming school year and/or Council’s involvement. We value your input and would love to hear from you – whether it’s questions, feedback from an event, a suggestion for another initiative, to volunteer some time or to simply stay connected by being added to the email list – please don’t hesitate to email us at: [email protected].
