Information for Class Building

Dear Families, 

At this time of year, we are gearing up to begin the important task of planning for the next school year. How quickly the time has flown! When creating classes, educators engage in multiple levels of collaboration. Teachers share their knowledge and understanding of every student in their class, along with information gathered from their students about social preferences, to inform class placements.  

While we know that parents/guardians sometimes hope for a specific teacher, it is important for our students to learn how to cooperate and function in an environment with a wide range of personalities. This adaptability is an invaluable skill which will help ensure they meet with success in the future. 

We cannot accommodate requests for specific teachers. 

Information that you wish to share that we might not be aware of will gladly be received, especially if there are exceptional circumstances that should be known. Please note that straight classes and split classes exist within our building, and requests for one over the other cannot be accommodated based on our organization. 

Please direct your email to myself (without naming specific teachers) via email: [email protected] on or before Friday, May 2nd. Although no guarantees are made, we will certainly consider the important input from home in the class building process. Anything received after this date may not be considered during our class building for September. 

Ancaster Meadow is a big school. A great deal of time, consideration, and effort goes into building classes. Once class placements are determined, no changes will be made. 

Families will be informed of 2025-2026 class placements at the end of August via the Parent Portal. In September, schools must always be prepared for the class structure to be reorganized due to enrollment numbers. Any requests for a class change based on exceptional circumstances will only be considered in the case of a reorganization, which would occur near the end of September. 

Catchment Area 

Ancaster Meadow School is closed to out-of-catchment attendance. If you have moved throughout the year, please confirm your address with the office to ensure that Ancaster Meadow is still your home school.
