Principal Update Jan 23

Hello,

This week Ancaster Meadow hosted guidance counsellors from Ancaster High School and also the Scientist in the Classroom program. Extracurricular programs running during nutrition breaks include: sports intramurals, basketball team practice, LEGO club, choir, and drop-in music rehearsal. Upcoming this week is our in-school science fair for students in grade 7 and 8.

A reminder for families that tomorrow (Friday Jan 24) is a scheduled PA Day and there is no school for students.

The HWDSB has posted the following letter to families of elementary students regarding report cards https://www.hwdsb.on.ca/wp-content/uploads/2020/01/Parent-Letter-Elementary-Reports-final.pdf

Families are encouraged to check https://www.hwdsb.on.ca/about/labour-update/ for information about the current Labour situation. Following @HWDSB on Twitter is also a good source of information. The information about the labour situation can change on an ongoing basis, it is important for parents to stay aware of this information in the local media.

I have been asked to remind families that to help buses run efficiently that students need to be at the bus stop before the scheduled time. While I recognize that two of our bus routes have some challenges with their schedule, three of our buses run on a fairly regular schedule. It delays the bus and causes concerns about traffic if students are running from houses when the bus pulls up to a stop. Please have students waiting at the bus stop by the scheduled time. School bus information can be found at https://www.hamiltonschoolbus.ca/delays.aspx

Have a great weekend,

Simon Goodacre, Principal
