Update on New Elementary School

Dear Parents, Guardians and Caregivers,

As you know, in June 2014 HWDSB Trustees approved the closure of Greensville and Spencer Valley and the construction of a new school on the Greensville school site. This was done to ensure efficient use of space and resources.

We received Site Plan approval from the City of Hamilton last school year. We then put the project out to tender to secure a contractor to construct the school, the Community Centre, Library, and Daycare.

The tender process closed early this summer but was significantly over budget. HWDSB Staff are exploring options with our community partners and Trustees will provide direction by the end of September. We will provide a further update to the community at that time.
