HWDSB Trustees Looking for Help Determining Ward Distribution

Hamilton-Wentworth District School Board (HWDSB) is undertaking a review of trustee electoral areas prior to the 2018 municipal elections. Current Trustees are seeking input from the public to help determine ward distribution. Members of the community are invited to attend a public meeting to offer feedback on Wednesday, March 28, 2018 from 6 – 8 p.m. at the Education Centre (20 Education Court). Confidential feedback is also being accepted through HWDSB’s website at until 4 p.m. on March 31, 2018.

Construction of New School at the Memorial (SC) Site and Consolidation of Schools

On June 19, 2017, the Ministry of Education announced funding to build a new 495 pupil place, Kindergarten to Grade 8 elementary school on the grounds of Memorial School in Stoney Creek. This new school will accommodate students from Mountain View and Memorial.

A public meeting will be held for families of Memorial and Mountain View on:

6:00 p.m.
Memorial School

This meeting will review initial plans for the new school as well as plans for transitioning students to the new school.

      Watch: Just One Wish Kindness Awards
      The third annual Just One Wish Kindness Awards were held on July 1, 2017 in Gage Park during the It's Your Festival celebrations for Canada's 150th birthday. Organizers honoured 151 children (150 for Canada's birthday and one for good luck), age 4 to 18, from across HWDSB for their kindness. These children exemplify what is means to be Canadian and what Canada is all about. Congratulations to all!
