Progress Report and Newsletter

Progress Reports are being sent home with students today. The following newsletter was also sent home: Progress Report Parent letter

Progress Report Newsletter

As Progress Reports come home with students, it is an excellent time to make sure that you have connected with your son or daughter’s teacher this year. Parent-Teacher interviews are this Thursday (Nov 2) evening and during the school day on Friday (Nov 3). Please contact teachers directly to arrange an interview time. While these dates are for formal interviews, parents are welcome and encouraged to contact teachers at other times. Many teachers have a class newsletter or class blog that highlights activities on a regular basis.

Ancaster Meadow has a wide variety of extra-curricular activities happening. Whether sports, Student Council, music, or STEM interests, students are encouraged to pay attention to the daily announcements. In addition to being read over the PA each day, the announcements are broadcast to the TV in the Foyer and to the website.  A number of school activities are also on the school calendar accessible through the website.  Parents can enter their email and subscribe to the website to receive automatic updates.  You can also follow the @AncasterMeadow Twitter account to stay up to date. A weekly Principal’s update is also posted to the website every Friday.

The Ancaster Meadow school plan is focused on two main elements: early reading skills and math improvement. The Kindergarten and Grade 1 staff are primarily focused on the monitoring and improvement of early reading skills. The teachers in Grade 2 to 8 are paying particular attention to improving student’s performance in math.
