School Re-Organization & Reminders

Dear Yorkview families,

Each fall, HWDSB reviews elementary student enrolment in schools, and reorganizes staffing if actual enrolment differs from spring projections. It is normal for student enrolment to fluctuate a little. This year, the fall reorganization is more widespread due to the in-person/remote option for students, as well as the ongoing need to meet provincial class size requirements.

Specifically, at our school, the reorganization will mean:

• Creating an additional kindergarten class due to an increase in our school enrolment. Ms. Pepper will be teaching this class beginning on Monday October 4th, 2021. Please join us in welcoming Ms. Pepper to class JSC!

A few gentle reminders for this week:

–Wednesday September 29th– Terry Fox Run (connect with classroom teacher for specific communication)

–Thursday September 30th– National Day for Truth and Reconciliation (wear an orange shirt)

–Thursday September 30th– School Council Meeting for parents/caregivers (5:30-6:30pm MS Teams)
