School Council Meeting October 19th @ 6:30PM
This year the Ministry of Education encourages school councils to meet and hold elections virtually to ensure a safe return to school. We are excited to announce that our first School Council meeting and School Council election will be held Monday October 19th at 6:30-8:00PM. This is a great opportunity to help guide our school’s direction. At this meeting, school council members will elect council leadership positions.
In the 2020-2021 school year the ministry has supported boards in setting up remote learning opportunities to support remote learners. Through this approach, the Ministry of Education encourages school boards to consider how best to allow parents of students participating in remote learning to have the opportunity to remain connected to and engaged in their child’s home/main school. In HWDSB parents are welcome to sit on the school council for their child’s home school if they choose.
