Meet the Staff Evening
October 8
5-6:30 pm

The staff at Winona welcome families for school and classroom visits, from 5:00 pm – 6:30 pm.  As our students bring their families through our school, most staff will be present to introduce themself and meet families.  Pre-ordered pizzas for pick up at 5:30 & 6:15.  Donation bin for outdoor and recess equipment will be in our front hallway.

Photo Day – Photo Day is coming to Winona this week.  Photo Days will occur on Wednesday, October 9 (K-3/4) and Thursday, October 10 (4-8).  Proofs should arrive in about 2 weeks. For those who are absent, a retake day will be available.

Drop and Go Mornings – To enhance student safety in the mornings, school bus loading and unloading will now take place near the first tarvia gate. This change aims to keep the rest of the bus lane clear for unobstructed crossings. We hope this adjustment improves visibility and reduces the need for families parking in our lot to cross between buses.

French Immersion Information Night – The French Immersion program at HWDSB is specifically designed for parents who do not speak French but want their children to speak both official languages. The program is open to HWDSB students starting in Grade 1. Families of Senior Kindergarten students considering the French Immersion program are invited to a virtual information session on October 17 ahead of the 2025-26 application process.  Follow the links, to find out more about the French Immersion program and application process. Elementary Focus Programs – HWDSB elementary schools offer a wide range of learning opportunities to prepare students for success in high school and beyond.
