Congratulations to all of the cross country runners who participated at the HWDSB meet last week, many personal bests were achieved.  A special thank you to Mr. Woods for his leadership.  One of the ongoing challenges we are experiencing is a lacking parent volunteers with police checks.  We are required to meet minimum supervision ratios (1:5 Kindergarten, 1:8 in Grades 1-3,  1:10 in Grades 4-6 and 1:13 in Grades 7-8) in order to safely attend extra-curricular activities as well as educational excursions (trips). Please connect with the office if you are able to assist.

We had our fire inspection and training last week. I am proud to say that we have solid practices in place at Templemead.  One area of concern is in the front of the school where some people are using this area as a drop off zone for their children.  Please know that this is against the fire code as this is a no stopping zone. By-law officers will be present at some point in the near future.  Please use the front parking lot as a drop off area or park in the community and walk your children the remaining distance to school.  Our students will also be participating in Bus Safety presentations this week.

Also, a reminder that October 24th is picture day for all students at Templemead.

Have a great week,

Mr. Hopkins
