What’s the D.E.A.L. with D.E.A.R.?
As an extension to the HWDSB’s Family Literacy Day, Templemead is having a Drop Everything and Read Day (D.E.A.R.) on Friday, January 31st. So then, what’s the D.E.A.L.? Well, some of our little ones are still learning to read, so why not Drop Everything and Listen? Or Drop Everything and Learn? Over the course of the day, teachers will be doing a variety of literacy activities with our students! It’s a great way to raise awareness about literacy and to engage students and families alike!
Want to get involved at home? Try checking out the Kids’ Activities available through the Hamilton Public Library! Library cards are free and there’s so much you can do with them!! Or try SORA to access books and read-alouds at home. Check out these instructions to access the HWDSB’s account!
And… to add to the fun and excitement, we are making it a PJ and Popcorn Day with the support of our School Council. Each student will receive complimentary popcorn in the afternoon!
Let’s all help to make reading spontaneous, fun, and engaging again!
