Hallowe’en Parade at Templemead

Wednesday, October 31st, at Templemead School – Halloween Parade

Halloween is quickly approaching and for many of our students it is a time of excitement.  As part of our afternoon celebrations, we would like to invite parents & caregivers, family, friends, and community members to come observe our Primary and Junior students in a Halloween Costume Parade.  Please note that our parade will not begin until after our 2nd Nutrition Break (which ends at 1:39 pm). Remember – our students will need time to parade through the school before coming outside.  Primary students will come out first, then a short break, followed by our Junior students (approx. 2:00pm).

Ideally, our parade route will take students outside through the doors at the south end of our Junior hallway (near the back right corner of the school).  We ask that parents wait outside, on the back playground, to view the parade of students.  We ask that parents do not wait in the school hallways as we want to keep all hallways as clear as possible in case of emergency.  However, should the weather not cooperate, parents will be invited into the school to wait along the edges of the main hallway to view the parade.

With the exception of our KDG students (who parade in the morning), we ask that students do not wear costumes to school.  They may bring their costumes with them to school to put on in the afternoon.  Please make sure that your child’s costume does not have any elaborate parts (that could get lost or make it difficult for them to put on) and that the costume is something in which they can dress themselves.  It would be easiest for them if they had a costume they could put on over their clothes.  Student costumes should be culturally respectful and costumes should not include weapons of any kind.  Weapons will be confiscated until the end of the school day.  We also ask that our older students be mindful of gore and how scary their costume is as our younger students can be quite sensitive.

Thank you.
