TERRY FOX RUN

September 2018

Dear Parents/Guardians:

On Thursday, September 27, 2018 students in grades Kindergarten to 8 at our school will be taking part in the annual Terry Fox School Run.

(rain/alternate date: Friday September 28, 2018 .

This event offers us the opportunity to celebrate our country and Terry at the same time this September! Students will have the opportunity to discuss the heroic efforts of Terry over the next few weeks and raise much needed funds for cancer research.   Through their participation in the annual School Run, we hope that our students will view themselves as positive agents of change giving the best of themselves to Canada, just like Terry did.

We are calling our Run “Toonies for Terry” and rather than send home pledge forms, are simply asking each Templemead student to donate a loonie or toonie.  All monies raised will be forwarded to The Terry Fox Foundation. Those students unable to bring in donations are welcome to participate in the event as well.

Please return any and all monies by Monday, September 30, 2018.

Our run will take place in the field area of Templemead Park and will run at the following times:

JK/SK – Grade 5:  11:20 – 12:00 pm (JK/SK on blacktop and rest on field)

Grade 5 – Grade 8: 12:10 – 12:50 pm (all on back field)

We are very pleased to be a part of this year’s Terry Fox Event as we encourage our students to develop a sense of volunteerism and goodwill, while celebrating school spirit. If you would like to join us, feel free to help support our run. Thank you in advance for your support!
