School Council
Our first School Council Meeting is scheduled for Wednesday, September 26 from 6:30 – 8:00 pm in the Learning Commons. We thank all individuals who completed a nomination form for the SWO 2017 – 2018 School Council.

Pizza Days
We are currently in the process of organizing our Wednesday Pizza Days at Sir William Osler. This year we will be offering two blocks of pizza for purchase rather than three. The first block will run from October – mid-January and the second block will run from mid-January to the first week of June. Please stay tuned for more information.
Meet the Staff – October 3, 2018 – 5:00 pm – 7:00 pm
We look forward to seeing everyone from the Sir William Osler Community at our Meet the Staff evening. Join us for our annual BBQ on the playground followed by an opportunity to a meet your child’s teacher along with other amazing staff.

Interested in volunteering this year? Thank you. Come to the Learning Commons at 6:30 pm on Meet the Staff Night
At 6:30 pm in the Learning Commons, Mr. Schinkel will be hosting a volunteer information session. All volunteers at SWO (including trip supervisors and drivers) require a volunteer orientation and a Criminal Reference Check. Criminal Reference Checks must be specific to volunteering with the HWDSB. They must be presented to the school no more than 6 months from date of search, and are valid for 3 years. Each year within the 3 years, an Offence Declaration must be signed.

Attendance Reminders
- The main office is open from 8:30 a.m. – 4:00 p.m.
- If your child is going to be absent or late for school, please call 905.628.1588 to report it. If you are unable to reach someone, please leave a voicemail message.
- If student arrives late for school, please buzz in at the main doors and report directly to the office to check-in. A late slip ill be given, which must be presented to the classroom teacher.
- If you have information that needs to be given to your child’s teacher, it is very helpful if you could write it in your child’s agenda or send a note to the particular teacher and have your child hand it in.
- Having child care arrangements made well in advance and ensuring your child(ren) know who is picking him/her up at dismissal. The office phones are extremely busy at the end of the day and we cannot ensure that your child(ren) will be notified of last minute changes.
