French Concert for Gr. 4-8 Friday June 16th

Dear Rockton Families,

We have a fun French experience coming to our Rockton School!

The one and only DJ DELF !!!

The concert will be on Friday, June 16th (11:35am – 12:35pm) – Period 3.

It may run a little longer (into Period 4) based on his timing with autographs.

DJ DELF will perform many of his famous French songs for all students in Core French (Grades 4-8). This will also include Mr. McMath’s (Gr. 3/4 students). The concert will be in the gym and will be a 1hr show.

Students are encouraged to sing and dance along and will have an opportunity to get his autograph at the end. We are making posters for the event to welcome his appearance! Students are permitted to have him sign their posters. Parents are welcome to attend the show as well!

Core French students will be practicing the chorus and some lyrics to these famous songs in class.

Attendee code of conduct: 

  • students are to behave as respectful citizens keeping in mind that they are representing themselves, their families, their school and other people their age
  • students are prohibited from bringing any “laser light” pens or other such apparatus
  • students are to refrain from bringing any food or beverages into the gym

About DJ DELF:
DJ DELF is a stage-name created by ÉTIENNE for the now famous DJ DELF self-titled album release. The role of DJ DELF has been played by a few artists including ÉTIENNE and Nicholas Allaire (drummer of the French pop-rock band NOUS). It is now the role of Nathan Langlois, 23 year-old musician, composer, designer, model, and actor. He is a former French Immersion student that holds a DELF certification.

The Diplôme d’études en langue française (DELF or Diploma of French Language Studies) is an internationally recognized French Language Proficiency Certificate. The DELF diploma is an official document awarded by the French Ministry of Education to certify the French language competency of candidates outside of France. The DELF exam is free for high school students (in Core French and French Immersion in Ontario) and is usually done in their final year of high school (voluntary).
