Junior Swim Team for (Gr. 3, Gr. 4 and Gr. 5)
Dear Rockton Families,
The Junior Swim Team for (Gr. 3, Gr. 4 and Gr. 5) will be having a Try-out/1st Practice on:
Date: Wednesday, September 24th
Location: Dundas Community Pool
Time: 8:00am-9:00am
Parents/Guardians are responsible for coordinating rides to the pool and back to school.
Forms:
Interested students received a swim letter and try-out/athletic permission forms.
Completed forms are due back to Mme Prentice or Mr. Schulze by Monday, Sept. 22nd before the student participates in try-outs.
When at the Dundas Pool (Try-out/1st Practice):
Swimmers must first successfully complete a swim test for Lifeguards: (2 widths of the pool, any stroke, without touching the bottom).
If successful, they are permitted to stay for the 1st practice.
Interested students should be comfortable swimming 1 length of the pool independently.
Junior Swim Team practices are not swimming lessons.
Our time in the pool will focus on stroke development for speed (front-crawl and back-crawl) as well as teaching diving in the deep end.
