Asymptomatic Testing Clinic – March 12, 2021

Voluntary Asymptomatic Testing is available for your child in your school community. Targeted testing is voluntary for asymptomatic students and staff and will help ensure that our schools remain a safe environment for all to learn and work in.

When:  Friday, March 12, 2021 from 11:30am – 7:00pm

Where:  Bernie Custis Secondary School, 1055 King Street East, Hamilton

What can I expect to happen at the test site?

Please review the information from Hamilton Public Health Services about Asymptomatic Rapid Antigen Testing and what to expect.

Why is asymptomatic testing being recommended?

In addition to daily screening, masking and the other health and safety measures, targeted testing in schools is an important layer of protection that helps to limit the spread of COVID.

Who is eligible for asymptomatic testing?

Testing will continue to be voluntary for students and staff, and consent will be required from parents or guardians for students under 18 years old. Students and staff from the following schools, as well as all children and staff of child care and before-and after school care programs associated with the following schools:

  • Bernie Custis Secondary School
  • Prince of Wales Elementary School
  • Dr. Davey Elementary School
  • Cathy Wever Elementary School
  • Adelaide Hoodless Elementary School
  • Memorial City Elementary School
  • AM Cunningham Elementary School
  • Queen Victoria Elementary School

What you need to know as part of the registration process:

  • You will be required to provide parent/guardian information along with child information including name and date of birth. You will also complete a COVID-19 questionnaire and a consent form (also attached for quick reference).
  • Once this information is entered, you will be able to book a time for testing.
  • Once you have completed the registration process you will receive an email with a QR code.
  • When you arrive at the testing location at the school, please make sure to be wearing a mask and to bring your QR code and your child’s health card. Walk-in appointments will be accommodated to the best of our ability.

Voluntary targeted COVID-19 testing is a partnership between Hamilton-Wentworth District School Board, Hamilton Public Health Services, the Ministry of Health and the Ministry of Education.
