Hallowe’en at Queensdale …

With the end of October quickly approaching, many students’ and families’ focus turn to Hallowe’en—a time of fun and celebration for many. Traditionally, many Queensdale students and families have enjoyed the opportunity to take part in school costume parades, a dance, classroom parties, and more. However, this year we need to make some safety-related changes due to COVID.

We are asking all parents and guardians to please review the changes below.

On Friday October 30, …

    • Students can wear costumes to school as per prior years practice (e.g., no weapons, no costume masks that might impede vision, no inappropriate images, etc.)
    • Students choosing to wear a costume should come to the school already wearing the costume and keep the costume on for the duration of the day. Student cannot change in/out of costumes at school.
    • Student costumes must be able to accommodate a face covering as per COVID requirements. (Halloween masks do not count as face coverings.)
    • Costume parades are not permitted, so will not take place.
    • No in-person assemblies are permitted
    • No sharing/distributing food or drink is permitted.
    • We will maintain safe practices including physical distancing and hand hygiene

We want to thank everyone in advance for your cooperation, and part in helping to keep our students and families as safe as possible.
