Early Childhood Educator Appreciation Day

On Child Care Worker & Early Childhood Educator Appreciation Day, we thank all our Designated Early Childhood Educators (DECEs) for supporting learners who are just beginning their educational journey.

High-quality learning and care for a young child has great benefits to their development and life outcomes. Over the past year DECEs have adapted their methods to provide continued high-quality experience for our learners. The challenges you have overcome to keep these young minds engaged is a testament to the importance of your roles at HWDSB.

DECEs and other educators work together to help children develop essential skills that will carry them through their educational journeys. They also teach them important interpersonal skills such as empathy and emotional intelligence that are essential to their well-being. By having caring adults in our system to support students through this stage of socialization and learning, we provide them with the emotional and educational support needed as they learn through exploration.
