Literacy Day is coming up on Tuesday January 27th and we will be having some activities at the school. Please see below.
BOOK SWAP: Students bring a gently used book to school for a book exchange. The books are to be brought into the school from January 19-22. Please be mindful that the books coming in are appropriate for redistribution. On Literacy Day, classes will have the opportunity to come “shop” for a new book to take home. If we do not have enough donated books for all students to swap, we may have to switch from a swap and have the books divided out for classroom extras for students to read during class time.
DRESS AS YOUR FAVOURITE STORY CHARACTER OR COMFY CLOTHES: This is a fun and engaging way to promote storytelling! There is nothing better than snuggling up to read in your favourite pj’s or comfy clothing. Looking forward to seeing the characters who will arrive! Important reminder: please avoid wearing costumes that copy cultural or religious clothing.
