Looking Ahead – September 2025

Dear Mount Hope Families, 

Here are a few important reminders for our upcoming school year: 

• First Day of School: The first day of school is Tuesday, September 2nd, 2025. Year 1 (JK) families will be invited to visit their child’s classroom on September 2nd. Year 2 (SK) and Year 1 (JK) students will begin full days on Wednesday, September 3rd, 2025.
• Class Placements for next year: Educators and Administration spend many hours forming classes, considering factors such as learning styles, instructional groupings, and the strengths/needs of the students. To assist us in making our decisions, we collect a wealth of data, including reading assessments and levels, numeracy skills, report card marks, learning skills, and day-to-day observations and interactions. We focus on the creation of balanced classes based upon instructional groupings and peer compatibility within those learning groups.  We must also consider mandated class sizes and the class organization provided to us by the board. As a reminder, class placements are not shared until the end of August through the Parent Portal.  
• School Supplies for Next Year: As you begin to prepare for the next school year, please keep an eye out for back-to-school deals! Classroom educators are always thankful for class donations such as pencils/pens, erasers, glue sticks, duo-tangs, markers, crayons, pencil crayons, rulers, scissors, craft supplies, calculators, tissues, etc. We appreciate your generosity! 

As we reflect on the past year, we are filled with gratitude for the strong sense of community that exists within our school. It has been a wonderful year learning with and from your children. We look forward to the opportunities that the new school year will bring and to continuing our partnership with you in the academic success and well-being of your child(ren).
