Principal Message – November 2021

Dear Mount Hope Families,

As we begin to prepare for a change in season and daylight savings, our hope is that families enjoyed the end to October with the Halloween weekend.  It was great to see students dressed in costumes enjoying their first special event day this year!

With November upon us we have launched our new Character Build’s trait that students will be learning more about over the next month. The trait of “Courage” fits well with Remembrance Day to honour schoolwide.  Students are challenged to rely on their inner strength to make appropriate choices in all types of situations demonstrating their courageous attempts to show leadership at Mount Hope.

Our extracurricular activities are alive at Mount Hope with our Senior boys and girls’ volleyball season underway.  Our student athletes are practicing and enjoying their season with only student athletes & coaches able to be present for games given COVID safety restrictions.  We thank you for your understanding.

Our next school council meeting will be held this Wed. Nov. 3rd at 6 p.m. via MS teams. For families that are interested in attending a phone dial option will be shared on our school website.

Council is excited to share our upcoming fundraiser that will be communicated to families via a flyer that will be sent home very soon. Our school fundraiser will be done virtually through school cash online with safety protocols put in place for receiving ordered items.  Information will be sent home through a flyer with your child in the coming week.

We are looking forward to Mount Hope’s photo day that is scheduled for Tuesday November 16th.  Please mark your calendars!

Student progress reports are being prepared for our students and families, with reports being sent home on Friday November 19th.  Please review your child’s progress report and identify strengths and next steps for goal setting moving forward.

With the colder weather approaching and a change in season, please remind your child if there are lost & found items to claim they are welcome to do visit our lost & found bin on our main floor. For children in younger grades, please connect with your child’s teacher if there are lost items to be claimed for your child.

We hope our families have an enjoyable month of November, with our continued goal of supporting our student’s safety, academic achievements & well-being to end this calendar year.

Sincerely,

Ms. Radojevic – Principal Mount Hope School
