Dear Mount Hope Parent(s)/Guardian(s):

September was a busy re-openning & start up at Mount Hope this year, with our school organization moving into the first week of October.  Thank you for your patience and understanding during the first month of the school year.  We started the year off focusing on the Character trait of respect and combined it with safety to ensure our students returned to school with a clear awareness of our protocols to ensure everyone’s safety at school.  Now that we are into the month of October our Character Builds focus is on the trait of Self-Regulation, with our students learning about their emotions and strategies to support them to regulate daily.       

Our updated school organization as of Monday October 4th has been posted on our school website, sharing the classes & teacher assignments for this school year.  We officially welcome Ms. Caldwell who has been hired as our permanent Gr. 1 teacher supporting our Gr. 1 class in the mornings and Mr. Gerrard who will be the team teacher. Ms. Palys our early childhood educator had moved on from Mount Hope and is supporting the system in the same role.  We also say farewell to Ms. Dowson who supported the Mount Hope school community in her role as a teacher in the Primary/Junior & Intermediate grades.  Ms. Dowson will be moving into a different position supporting the system this year.  We wish our staff moving on all the best as they support the system best moving forward! 

Extracurricular activities have been a great addition to life at school at Mount Hope this year. We had three 3-Pitch teams represent Mount Hope at the system tournaments showing great sportsmanship and teamwork at the events.  Our students from Grades 3 to 8 have been dedicated to their training in Cross Country with our Gr. 6 to 8 students representing Mount Hope at our system event next Friday October 15th at Christie Conservation.  Our Gr. 3 – 5 students will be provided with a school event at Mount Hope on Thursday October 14th organized by our Phys. Ed teacher Mr. Horne.
