Volunteering at Helen Detwiler

As public health restrictions have eased, we are currently looking for volunteers that would be available to attend educational and athletic excursions.

New Volunteers – If you have never volunteered in an HWDSB school, then you will need to complete a Volunteer
Application package and obtain a “Vulnerable Sector Screening Criminal Reference Check (CRC) ” from Hamilton
Police Services. Please contact the school office for the necessary forms.

Returning Volunteers – Volunteers will provide, for review, a new Vulnerable Sector Screening every three years. However, a break in volunteer service of one year or more or beginning as a Volunteer in a new school will require a new Vulnerable Sector Screening to be presented for review.
