Safety reminder after student report

Dear Families,

As you know, at Helen Detwiler we consider student safety to be our top priority. From time to time, it is helpful to remind students and families about safety procedures.

Yesterday, one of our students reported being followed by a stranger when walking to school. We are very concerned when we hear a report like this.

Police have investigated and followed up appropriately.

At this point, we want to remind students about safety when walking to and from school. We always recommend that students walk in pairs or groups. We want our students to be aware of their surroundings and to report suspicious activity.
