Halloween!

October 31

Halloween is not observed by all students or staff. Participation is entirely optional. If your child chooses to wear a costume to school, please ensure it follows the expectations below:

✅ Costume Guidelines

  • No face masks that cover the face, even if it is part of the costume.
  • No weapons of any kind, even if they are costume props.
  • No costumes that mock or make fun of any group of people, their culture, religion, or beliefs.
  • No costumes that reinforce stereotypes or jokes about any group, culture, religion, or belief system.
  • No altering of skin color or facial/body features to resemble a particular race, ethnicity, or cultural group.
  • No cultural or religious dress that is not part of your child’s own background or lived experience.

We appreciate your support in creating a safe, respectful, and inclusive environment for all students.

We look forward to hosting a Halloween Parade – The grade 3/4 class will lead the way at 9am, circulating each class all the way down to the kindergarten classes – then out to the playground (tarmac area) for a lap or two. Families are welcome to come to watch all the fun! We expect to be outside close to 9:20 am, and please expect delays. Students who are not participating in the parade will have optional spaces to engage in alternative activities, supported by a variety of educators.

If your child’s classroom is hosting a Halloween Party, and you wish to send in treats, please ensure that all items are store bought (even the healthy ones!). It’s important that we know all ingredients to keep our students with allergies safe.
