Bullying Awareness and Prevention Week

Dear Families,

This week, our school will be recognizing Bullying Awareness and Prevention Week: a time to come together as a community to promote kindness, inclusion, and respect for all.

Throughout the fall, classes have explored important themes connected to building a safe and caring school environment. This week, we will revisit and deepen those discussions, using our morning announcements and classroom activities to reflect on how our actions contribute to a positive school culture.

Our daily review themes are:

  • Day 1: Understanding Human Rights Students will revisit the concept of basic human rights and how bullying can often target aspects of identity. We’ll reflect on the importance of respecting and protecting each other’s rights.
  • Day 2: Being an Upstander We’ll highlight the power of speaking up and supporting others. Students will review how small actions can make a big difference in preventing bullying.
  • Day 3: Collaborative Classroom Agreements Classes will reaffirm shared agreements that promote kindness, safety, and respect—strengthening the foundation for positive relationships.
  • Day 4: Teasing, Aggression, and Bullying Students will revisit the differences between these behaviours and discuss consistent actions that help create a welcoming and inclusive school culture.

The goal this week is simple: to remind ourselves that our words and actions matter. Every choice we make can help build a school where everyone feels safe, respected, and valued.
