New Administration at GL Armstrong
We are pleased to introduce a new Administration Team as of February 3rd. Filling in as Temporary Principal for the months of February, March and April is Mr. B. Playfair who is a retired HWDSB Principal with 17 years of administrative experience and 18 years teaching experience prior to that. More importantly, our new permanent Vice Principal is Ms. J. Sired who is a new Vice Principal to HWDSB. She experienced a great deal of success as a Special Education teacher and most recently as a Social-Emotional teacher for the Peel Board of Education prior to making the move to Hamilton.

Kindergarten Registration 2025—2026 School Year
If you or your neighbour have a child born in 2020 or 2021, it’s time to make his or her world a little bigger. Junior and Senior kindergarten registration for the 2025-2026 school year has begun and Early Learning specialists say parents shouldn’t overlook the importance of a child’s first two years of school. The Kindergarten program engages children in age-appropriate language, math, science, arts, health and physical activities.

Don’t wait – register your child beginning now!

Keeping Playground as Safe as Possible:
Since September of this year, staff have been focusing on building independence and responsibility within the student body. To that end, we are asking that all parents of students in Grades 1-8 say goodbye to their child at the entrance onto the playground and NOT come onto the large paved section of the school yard. Parents of students in Kindergarten can continue to drop students off at the Kindergarten gate.
