Announcements for Wednesday June 21, 2023
National Indigenous People’s Day is today June 21st. June 21st was established as National Indigenous People’s Day, through proclamation, as a National Day of recognition in 1996. It is a day that marks the summer solstice, and a day to recognize, celebrate, and honour the heritage of the many unique Indigenous Peoples on Turtle Island. First Nations, Metis, and Inuit communities across the nation host a variety of events to honour ceremony, and to engage and enjoy being in community. We recognize and honour our Indigenous community members at GLA.
