Weekly Update

Dear Families,

Cootes Paradise is back in full swing. Monthly newsletters will begin again this month which will keep you up date on all school events and information. Please subscribe to our website to ensure you are notified when news is posted.

A few items of interest for this week:

  • We are in the process of re-organizing our school for the 2021-2022 school year. Students will begin to receive letters on Tuesday and Wednesday to note if there are changes to classrooms or teachers. New assignments will begin on Monday, October 4, 2021. If your child does not receive a letter, there is no change in their classroom assignment.
  • Fire Drill – Tuesday, September 28 – Please see Friday’s post.
  • Wednesday is our annual Terry Fox’s Marathon of Hope – all students are encouraged to wear RED to show our support. Although we cannot run as a whole school community at once, we will be staggering times for all classes to participate. Please show your support by donating to Cootes Paradise Terry Fox. Together, we can all make a difference. #terryfoxschoolruns #tryliketerry @terryfoxfoundation
  • Thursday September 30 is Orange Shirt Day and Canada’s first National Day for Truth and Reconciliation. It’s a day to honour the survivors and victims of the residential school system. All students will be given a “Every Child Matters” sticker if they do not have orange to wear.
  • Our virtual School Council meeting will be held on Thursday, September 30 at 6:30. Please use this link to join. School Council Meeting/
  • Our School Council meeting will be followed by a Home and School meeting.

Wishing you all a healthy and safe week !
