“True Colours” week at Cootes Paradise

Accepting and celebrating our differences

Accepting and celebrating our differences is the theme that we will be celebrating at Cootes Paradise between March 1-4. All of our students have different personalities and it is important to learn that our differences make us who we are.

We all have different tastes but we also have more in common than we think! We need to learn that it’s our differences that make us unique.

Learning to respect and accept each others differences is what building a positive community is about.  This is what we do best at Cootes and we want to show our awareness by celebrating our “True Colours” week throughout the week of March 1st – March 4th!

Each day we will announce a positive message and it will be the theme of the day.

Monday – “Stand by your friend”

Tuesday – Be Self-Confident! You belong just the way you are!

Wednesday – Happiness comes from within!

Thursday – It’s Cool to be Kind!

Thursday will mark the last day of our “True Colours” week and we would like to invite students to wear bright colours to boost the moral and show everyone that we can shine through even during a pandemic. The premise of this week also aligns nicely with the series of lessons called Learn. Disrupt. Rebuild (LDR).

More information on LDR can be found here: Learn Disrupt Rebuild
