Halloween at Cootes!

Following Covid Protocols is critical every day, including on days like Halloween! Cootes will celebrate Halloween on Friday, October 30th!
Please keep the following in mind:
  • students may choose to wear costumes to school as in previous years
    • Costumes:
      • no weapons or props
      • no costume masks (could interfere with face coverings)
      • no inappropriate images
      • nothing too scary or gory (we want all students to have fun and not feel scared)
      • must be able to safely accommodate a face covering as per COVID protocol requirements
      • students would need to arrive in their costume, wear it all day, wear it home
      • staff could not be assisting with putting on or removing student costumes
      • students would need to be able to remove their costume independently to use the washroom
      • students would need to be able to safely play at recess in their costume
  • students may choose instead to wear black and orange
  • students may choose neither of the above options and may wear their regular clothing
  • no parades or in-person assemblies will take place this year
  • no sharing or distributing food or drink – students can bring in their own snack
  • students may not bring items from home to share or distribute
  • Covid Protocols and safe practices must be maintained (including physical distancing, hand hygiene, mask wearing, etc.)

Thank you so much for understanding as we continue to plan for these special days with our new norms!
