Welcome Back Gator Families!
The first day of school is soon here and the staff at Billy Green are so excited to see our smiling Gator faces. I am particularly excited as this is my first September here as principal at this amazing school and I am sure I am not the only one with those slight first day jitters. I know how important communication is, so I wanted to send out just a few reminders to help ease the transition back to school:
First Day: The first day for all grade 1 to 8 students is on Tuesday September 3. JK orientation is also on Tuesday September 3 at the time scheduled with your educator. The first day for all FDK (jk and sk) students is Wednesday September 4th.
Teacher Names: All class placements can be found on the Parent Portal. If your child is unsure who their teacher is on the first day of school, please have them look for a staff member in a vest who will guide them to their class.
Arrival on the first day: When arriving to the school on Tuesday, all students will continue to be in the front playground area. When the bell rings, students will look for their teacher who will be holding a sign with their name on it. Below you will find an image of where each class will be lining up. Please know that while we understand the excitement of the first day, we do ask that parents/guardians please clear the area once their child is at the correct line-up:

Updated Plans of Care: Over the course of this week, returning families will be receiving letters for you to review past plans of care. Some families may have also received an email to confirm noted medical. Once you have reviewed and noted any changes, please return these to the school as soon as possible. If you are a new family to our community, please reach out to the school office team who will be able to provide you with the necessary forms.
Cell Phone Policy: A reminder of the HWDSB Code of Conduct that addresses Personal Electronic Devices. These devices cannot be used throughout the instructional day – including nutrition break – unless permitted by an educator. They must be stored out of sight and must remain on silent. We thank you in advance for your cooperation.
