Happy Thanksgiving to all our BG Families!

We’ve been working this fall to get to know our students and for them to better get to know each other and us. We are so fortunate to have a diverse community of learners at Billy Green. We have students who were born in many different countries, representing many different cultures.  We have students and staff who wear symbols of their religions or cultures at school (e.g., hijab, fez, cross, kirpan).  As members of the Billy Green Community, we all have a role to play in creating a culture where all students and staff feel safe, supported, and accepted. We are continuing to teach our students to show respect for themselves, their peers and staff. We appreciate when you are able to reinforce these same messages at home.

Upcoming

Popcorn Tuesdays are continuing at BG.  Kernels popcorn is on sale to students during Nutrition Break 1 every Tuesday for $2.50/bag. Funds raised through the sale of popcorn will be used to offset the cost of educational excursions.

Pizza Thursdays started at the beginning of October.  Orders are placed monthly through School Cash Online ($2.00/slice).

School Council held their first meeting of 2023/24 on October 5.  Council elections were held at this meeting.  Congratulations to our Co-Chairs Katrina Hempstead and Silvio Andrighetti, and Treasurer Anupama Shridhar. The next meeting will be November 2 in the school library.

Junior Swim, Volleyball, Cross-Country seasons are underway.  The cross-country meet is later this week.  The swim team is practising weekly for their upcoming meet.  The volleyball teams have started their practices ahead of their season beginning later in October. Go Gators!
