September Update

BG Families,

The 3rd week of school is underway! Thank you to everyone for making our first two weeks of school so successful.

A reminder that student supervision on the playground begins at 8:25am.  Students should not be on our school yard before then. At the end of the day students being picked up, should be picked up at the 3:00pm dismissal bell.  Students walking home should make their way home in a timely manner.

Billy Green Staff enjoyed meeting so many families last week at our Meet the Staff Picnic. It was great to see so many families enjoying the great weather outside together.

We have several Junior and Senior 3-Pitch teams that have started practising with tournament dates coming up next week.   Information about Junior Swim Team (gr3-5) will be sent home with interested students shortly. Thanks to Coach Bodo, Coach Dawson, Coach Mace, Coach Mitchell, and Coach Tremain for supporting 3-Pitch and Swim Team. Game On and Heart Program both run through Big Brothers and Big Sisters are also underway!

School Spirit Wear continues to be on sale until September 30.  Please go to schooltee.com to place orders (access code BILL.HAM).

Our student leaders and Ms. Rodic have started Popcorn Tuesdays again. Kernels popcorn will be on sale to students during Nutrition Break 1 every Tuesday for $2.50/bag. Funds raised through the sale of popcorn will be used to offset the cost of educational excursions.

Upcoming:

Orange Shirt Day will be recognized Friday, September 29.

Pizza Thursdays will start up again in October.  Pizza must be pre-ordered through School Cash Online ($2.00/slice).  October orders are due September 28.

Public Health has scheduled Immunizations for Gr7s at Billy Green for October 4.  Information and permission forms will be sent home with Gr7 students. Please have forms returned by Sept 27.

Our first School Council meeting will be Thursday, October 5, 6:30 in the school library.

Picture Day is scheduled for Friday, October 6.
