Year-End Message to Families
BG Families,
This is the time of year when we look back on the school year and it certainly has been another year of changes and challenges! We continue to appreciate the support of the BG community as we work together for our students.
We wish our graduating class all the best next year as they move on to secondary school. We are certain that your time at Billy Green has prepared you for the challenges ahead.
This is also a time to say good-bye to our departing staff.
Miss Baldin, Ms. McGregor, Ms. Thompson, Mrs. Vanicek, Miss Waller were with us this year on a temporary long-term basis and will be moving on to new assignments for the fall.
Additionally, Mrs. Carbone, Mr. Fleming, Ms. Lucek, Mrs. MacLean, Mr. Minich, Mrs. Needham, Ms. Roud, Mrs. Zalter are starting new positions at other schools in September.
Finally, a special good-bye and thank-you to Mrs. Costa-Popovich. Mrs. Costa-Popovich has been our temporary vice-principal since April and is returning to retirement after the end of June. In the short time she has been with us, she has been working closely with staff and has gotten to know so many of our Gators! Thanks to Mrs. Costa-Popovich for her dedication to the Billy Green community. Next year we will not have a vice-principal at Billy Green.
We wish all our departing staff well in their new positions and thank them for their contributions to Billy Green!
Start-Up Information
As we look ahead to September, please follow us on our website https://www.hwdsb.on.ca/billygreen. Information for our start-up will be posted on our website at the end of August.
Tuesday September 6
– 1st day of school for Grade 1-8 students
– students new to kindergarten will be invited to a short visit with a parent/guardian/caregiver
– no school for returning Kindergarten Year 2/SK students
Wednesday September 7
– all students attend school
Class Placements
Class Placements for September 2022 will be found in the Parent Portal beginning August 30. Please check the Parent Portal at that time. Families may also call the school starting August 31 for information. Please know that the caring staff at Billy Green have engaged in a lengthy and thoughtful process to determine class placements that will support all our students.
