Update to BG Families (Aug 26)

Hello BG Families,

We hope that you are having a safe, healthy and happy summer with your families. As we look ahead to school starting up soon, we wanted to share some information.

Parent Portal

A reminder that the deadline to indicate if your child will be participating in in-person or remote schooling in September has been extended until Thursday, August 27 at 11:59pm.

The parent portal can be accessed here: https://www.hwdsb.on.ca/parent/

If you aren’t able to log-in on the parent portal, please fill out the “Alternate Method to Select Elementary In-Person or Remote Learning” at the top of that same page.

Many of you would have received this update yesterday through the HWDSB or Billy Green School website notification system.  It was also posted on the board’s social media pages (Facebook, Twitter) and re-posted on our school twitter page (https://twitter.com/billygreenhwdsb).

and follow the instructions to “subscribe.”  This means that you will receive an email notification to your inbox when new items are posted to the website.

HWDSB Start-Up Plan

The August 25, 2020 update to families includes this chart regarding planned start dates:

Tues Sept 8/Wed Sept 9 – The focus will be on the small number of students who require significant special education supports and/or support with transitions and/or mental health.  Next week we will be reaching out directly to families of these students to set-up times for individual visits (not full days at school).

Thurs Sept 10/Fri Sept 11/Mon Sept 14/Tues Sept 15 – Students will attend based on the first letter of their last name.

We are planning to send out information to families through the website and through School Messenger regarding classes, school procedures, and other information once details have been finalized later in the week of August 31.
