December 17th Holiday Message

Fall 2021 has challenged us in many ways in our schools and communities. Working within Public Health Protocols to reduce the spread of Covid may have changed the way school looks but our goal in the midst of any challenge, is to ensure that school is a place where everyone feels they can be successful and belong. We have focused on building relationships because relationships are the foundation for everything else that follows. This includes our relationships with families and our greater community. The Balaclava community has lived our vision to make the world a better place through informed, responsible and compassionate action. Thank you for your support in contributing to Holiday Hampers. Together, we were able to send 138 gift cards to be distributed in Holiday Hampers to families across the HWDSB.  Please know you have made a positive difference!

Please note students have been asked to take all personal belongings home as well as any learning materials that may be required in January. Should we be directed to remote learning for a period of time following the holidays, a process for requesting and distributing devices for learning will be provided. There will be no access to our school building for families over the holidays.

As we prepare to leave for the winter holidays we want to remind all our families to stay up to date on the latest information and precautions to keep everyone safe. Please see the link below for details.

May this holiday season be filled with beautiful moments that are joyful and meaningful to you and your family. We will look forward to continuing our work to make Balaclava School the best place to learn when school resumes on January 3, 2022!
