Terry Fox
Dear Families,
On Friday, September 22nd during our last block (1:55 pm-3:35 pm), Ancaster Meadow students will be participating in our annual Terry Fox Celebration Run. Students will walk, jog or run around the perimeter of the back field to music celebrating 43 years since Terry’s Marathon of Hope. Parents are welcome to come and watch our students run. We truly have a great time celebrating Terry’s legacy.
With parent permission, students are encouraged to collect pledges. Over the last 17 years, the students at Ancaster Meadow have shown perseverance and dedication just like Terry proudly raising just over $80 000.00 to support the Terry Fox Foundation and cancer research. Our fundraising goal this year is $3 000.00. Though students are encouraged to collect pledges, they will participate in our run whether they collect funds or not.
As motivation for collecting pledges, if our goal is met, teachers will participate in a tricycle race with all of our students watching. This will be a ton of fun and, with our staff, quite a hilarious race to watch. It is truly going to be a great time. The race is scheduled for Friday October 6th.
Students can collect pledges and bring them to their teacher with cash or cheques made out to the Terry Fox Foundation: donations are due Monday October 2nd. Or they can donate via our school through the Terry Fox Foundation website at:
