Dear Families,
Ancaster Meadow’s Terry Fox run will be held Friday, September 23rd this year. We are excited to be able to have all our students together on the back playground to celebrate Terry’s legacy during our last block from 1:55 pm-3:35 pm. Teachers and students will walk, jog, and run during this time to pay tribute to Terry’s incredible journey 42 years ago.
Teachers will be handing out pledge forms very soon to those students interested in collecting funds to support cancer research. Collected money and pledge forms should be returned to your child’s homeroom teacher by Monday September 26th.
Online donations can also be made directly to our school’s donation page at www.terryfox.org . Click on “Give Today” and follow the links to donate to a student or school.
This year’s theme for the National School Day Run is “Never Give up, Never Quit”. Just like Terry, the students at Ancaster Meadow have never quit supporting our Terry Fox initiative for 17 years. Our goal this year is $5 000.00. We think we can reach that and hopefully surpass it. If we do, Mrs. Dunford and Ms. McNicholls-Ramrattan have agreed to be fantastic sports and play “Egg Roulette” in front of the entire school at our final Terry Fox Assembly. That will be fun to see!
Let’s collect those pledges Ancaster Meadow and have a great time celebrating on Friday September 23rd. Let’s keep Terry’s dream alive.
