2020-2021 School Council

Hello,

 

Each school in Ontario is required to have a School Council. The purpose of the School Council is “through the active participation of parents, to improve pupil achievement and to enhance the accountability of the education system to parents.” School Councils provide input to principals or the Board on issues of interest.

 

Though this year has brought many challenges, School Councils will continue to operate. However some changes to traditional procedures are required. School Councils cannot currently meet in person but will operate with virtual meetings.

 

Each school year there is an opportunity for any parent to run for election for one of the School Council positions. The Council at Ancaster Meadow has the following Executive positions:

  • Chair
  • Vice-Chair
  • Secretary
  • Treasurer

 

Please find the nomination form attached. Unfortunately it will need to be printed, filled out, and scanned. 2020 2021 Nomination Form

All nominations should be  emailed to [email protected] by the end of Monday October 12th.

 

The first virtual School Council meeting will be held on Thursday October 15th at 6:30pm. A link to the virtual meeting will be sent next week.
